PENNSYLVANIA ACADEMY OF
GENERAL DENTISTRY
Many might assume that the dental industry is solely abuzz with tips on teeth and practices. Not always. This publication is for members of the PAGD and usually includes fun extras like advice on esthetics, event snapshots, stories from graduates and professionals, and more.
In these issues, I frequently employ color, cutouts and drop shadows, and photo grids. When I use stock photos, I aim to use ones involving teeth sparingly. A publication meant for those already in the industry should appeal visually in a way that offers some variety from the drab sights of one's usual day-to-day. Perhaps this means including art, office shots, or event locations. The design should be fun, invite specialists to catch up on the field and going-ons of the association, and celebrate achievements of their friends and colleagues.

MICHIGAN STATE MEDICAL SOCIETY
Michigan Medicine was a medical magazine published and printed for over a century before going fully digital. This publication was a place for members to gain perspective from multiple positions in medicine, including medical law, HR, education.
These issues were straightforward in structure, but open in regards to themes and color. I enjoyed creating visually-catchy spreads that would be mirrored on the cover and bleed into the rest of the feature articles. I felt obligated to create something appealing and unique in the hopes that it would measure up to the century-long history of Michigan Medicine. My clients and I were both pleased with how artfully these issues presented.

WEST VIRGINIA STATE FORESTRY
Mountain State Forestry is a magazine published to a network of forestry professionals in West Virginia. Every month, members have access to stories and information affecting their state, government, and livelihoods. From invasive species to logging safety, if it matters to a forester, it's in this publication.
Who doesn't love the outdoors? West Virginia Forestry has unsurprisingly been my favorite issue to work on as a Washingtonian, creating vibrant spreads of plants, animals, and West Virginia's natural beauty and color. It is clean, structured publication with lots of opportunities to showcase the industry's news. I often opted for a mix of clean grids and organic shapes, embodying the passion created when humanity and nature come together.
